About Brandon Deegan
Brandon is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar. As an experienced trial attorney, he has successfully prosecuted and defended complex litigation and arbitration matters for more than a decade. He has assisted his clients with recovery of more than one hundred million dollars through project negotiations; litigation settlements; and litigation verdicts. His hard work and successes have been recognized by his awards and ratings, including Martindale-Hubbell's coveted "AV Preeminent" rating as well as Avvo's Five-Star “Clients’ Choice Award”.
Brandon’s clients span the full construction industry. He represents contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, developers, property owners, professionals, and international clients in both ongoing business operations and litigation. He advises on ongoing commercial and residential construction projects as outside general counsel and assists companies and individuals in navigating projects from the pre-construction phase through project closeout and final resolution. Brandon’s experience extends into the public sector, where he serves as counsel for municipal government.
A major concentration in his practice involves large-scale construction. His portfolio includes advising and litigation on commercial office tower construction; high-rise projects; hotel and resort construction; airport, seaport, and spaceport projects; infrastructure and utility projects; and other large dollar complex projects. Brandon’s command of advanced technology enables him to efficiently and cost-effectively tame complexities.
Brandon pairs his construction law expertise with his many years handling business operations disputes; employment matters; injury claims; risk management; and insurance claims to provide clients with comprehensive representation. This breadth means clients receive integrated counsel across the full range of challenges they may face.
Brandon is a Florida native. After graduating from the University of Florida, he studied law and competed on the trial team at the University of Miami, School of Law. He is a member of the oldest and largest international business fraternity in the world. Brandon has practiced law while living in South Florida, North Central Florida, and Northeast Florida.

Commercial Disputes and Operations
- More than one hundred million dollars recovered for clients through project negotiations, litigation settlements, jury verdicts, and judgments.
- Recently recovered in excess of $300,000 on judgment obtained without trial.
- Recovered $600,000 for two subcontractors for unpaid work.
- Recovered approximately $1,000,000 in damages, including payment and recovery of materials on behalf of the supplier.
- Obtained judgment in excess of $1,000,000 for subcontractor.
- Recovered approximately $600,000 for two subcontractors against related entities for unpaid work.
- Recovered nearly two-million dollars in damages in a civil lawsuit settlement.
- Served as counsel for a real estate developer, litigating more than twenty lawsuits including derivative litigation, construction litigation, condominium litigation, and other matters.
- Assisted in negotiations pertaining to a federal lawsuit that sought nearly a billion dollars related to property that was wrongfully seized.
- Litigated more than forty federal lawsuits.
- Successfully obtained a 'spoliation' ruling in federal court due to an opposing parties' destruction of evidence, leading to a favorable inference in favor of our client prior to trial.
- Won a 4-hour oral argument, setting the stage for a global settlement of ten federal cases, and obtained favorable U.S. Southern District of Florida opinions on issues of first impression.
- Recovered damages for clients in litigation against multiple Fortune 100 companies.
- Defended business and its owners against allegations of tens of millions of dollars of fraud, racketeering, and other claims pertaining to property development.
- Defended a contentious lawsuit involving a derivative claim for more than five years with the result that multiple clients and causes of action were dismissed.
- Won construction appeal in Florida's Third District Court of Appeal.
- Obtained the dismissal of an appeal challenging subcontractor client's seven-figure judgment in the Second District Court of Appeal.
- Drafted and negotiated complex commercial contracts, construction change orders, settlement agreements, and related project documents to preemptively mitigate risk.
